To earn the CISA certification, candidates must meet both the following requirements:
  A) Work Experience Requirements
  ISACA requires candidates to have at least 5 years of professional work experience in information systems auditing, control, or security.
  This experience must be gained within 10 years prior to the certification application date.
Alternatively, experience must be earned within 5 years after passing the CISA exam.
  A minimum of 2 years must be from at least 1 of the 5 CISA job practice domain areas.
